Coconut Oil as a Topical
So, I read a "tips and tricks" article from Cosmopolitan a couple of weeks ago that talked about the benefits of using coconut oil as a topical for your face. It's apparently the the new hot item by a few select celebs. The article was talking about Trader Joe's product that is around $5.99 a bottle, it hydrates the skin providing so much elasticity that over time it reduces wrinkles. Well I'm not sure about the wrinkle reducing capabilities because I have only been using it for 2 weeks, however I can say that the coconut oil has worked wonders on my upper arms. I have really rough dry skin on my arms, poor little Ardynn has the same thing, the Dr. says it is just a result of severely dried out skin that in some cases even when moisturized frequently still stays too dry. The best treatment is to moisturize the crap out of it. When I read some more info about coconut oil as a topical, it suggested that people who suffer from psoriasis use it to reduce redness and itching. To sum it all up, this coconut oil is wonderful, my skin has never felt better! I use it on my entire body after the shower with St. Ives anti itch oatmeal lotion and apply it on my face every night before bed, it leaves your skin feeling like silk! I also use this in my hair as a pre wash treatment, the oil provides moisture and nutrients to the hair follicles which results in stronger, shinier, healthier hair. I love it!!
