Home Made Turkey Meatballs
Kyle and I have tried a wide variety of different frozen meatballs from the grocery store and always end up feeling sick after we eat them, but I just couldn't get past the convenience of opening a bag and BAM! Spaghetti and meat balls for two in under 10 minutes! Well I said audios to simple preservative filled freezer meals a while ago and hello wholesome and healthy so it's about time I learned how to make a good meatball. Lucky for me it only took one try and if all I hear from Kyle and Ardynn are mmmmm's because they're too busy chewing then I know for sure they turned out great!
Turkey Meatballs
Ingredients:
In a large bowl mix together turkey, pork, eggs, onion, garlic, ketchup, worcestershire, parsley, oregano, parmesan and asiago. in a small bowl mix together milk and bread crumbs, add to meat mixture, mash it all together with washed or gloved hands and form into meatballs according to the size you want.
Heat oil in a large frying pan and cook meatballs until brown on all sides cooking until temperature reads 135 degrees. Transfer into a 9x13 baking dish or onto a rimmed cookie sheet, if you have a lot of meatballs. Cover with tin foil and bake in the oven at 350 until cooked through (170 degrees).
Meanwhile pour the marinara sauce in a sauce pan and heat through adding the meatballs when they are fully cooked.
Meatball Subs
Assemble your sub on the softest football shaped bread rolls you can find in your stores bakery department. First butter the bread and place under the broiler on a baking sheet until toasted. Removing the "bottom" bun from the baking sheet place the cheeses of your choice (ours being mozzarella and provolone) on the top bun and place back under the the broiler until cheese is melted. Scoop on some meatballs and try not to be a pig!
