Left Over Turkey Cheddar Wreath

I have made this recipe before with eggs, bacon and veggies and it's super simple and really yummy. So I thought that with all the Turkey I have left over rather than making the typical soup, casserole, or salad for sandwiches I'd try this wreath idea and I must say it was delicious! If you happen to have any left over gravy or if you're not making this right after a holiday and using chicken instead of leftovers, use your gravy or whip up some chicken gravy to drizzle over the top!

Left Over Turkey Cheddar and Broccoli Wreath

Ingredients:

2 cups left over turkey (or however much you want to stuff into this recipe)
2 cans crescent rolls
1 package Uncle Ben's Herb rice
1 cup corn
1 tbs olive oil
2 carrots chopped into small pieces
1/2 small onion; finely chopped
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper

Cook rice according to package directions, you can use the instant rice if you're looking to make this meal a little quicker. Once rice is done set aside to cool and preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute onion and carrots in olive oil until carrots are begging to soften. In a large bowl mix together all the ingredients adding the rice last.

On a large baking sheet lay out the first 8 dough triangles in a circle with the pointy ends on the inside and the wide ends spaced evenly apart to form a circle on the outside. Then lay the other 8 dough triangles in a circle the opposite way, with the wide ends in between the gaps and placed length wise in the middle of the first 8 triangles (this will create a wide ring around the middle of the dough pieces for you to put the turkey mixture) . Place the Turkey mixture around the middle of the ring (on top of the dough) then fold the pointy ends of the dough over the mixture (there will be gaps in between the dough pieces, it's not meant to be completely covered all the way around). Place in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.

Here is a link to another recipe that has pictures in case you're confused about how to lay the dough out. The filling in this recipe sounds delicious too! http://fantasticfamilyfavorites.blogspot.ca/2011/11/turkey-cranberry-wreath.html
