Dr. Fuhrman on Dr. Oz
I watched an episode on Dr. Oz this morning and he had Dr. Fuhrman on who is pretty much like a dietary "super man". Kyle and I have been eating really well since we had Ardynn, even more so since we moved to Las Vegas and started back up with Bountiful Baskets. We have noticed such a difference in our overall health that eating out at some restaurants is almost torture on our digestive systems! I am intrigued and fascinated with the benefits the human body reaps when fed well, really well not cleverly packaged well...
I have always been the shopper who was sucked into the pretty cleaver wording and bright colored packaging so many food companies use to market their products as being "whole grain", "sugar free", "fortified with calcium and vitamins", the list goes on and on! I was completely blind to the fact that all those foods are still processed and although it may be healthier than some other products, your body processes the food substance too quickly and causes excessive fat storage, abnormal blood sugar levels, and bad food cravings. I felt that fresh fruits and vegetables were too expensive so we'd buy a couple of apples and occasionally some salad mix, or if a recipe called for certain fresh ingredients I would buy only what was necessary. I didn't realize I was adding the expense of fresh food to our existing expense of "crap food" tricking myself into thinking that fresh meant expensive, it's not expensive if you cut out the crap!
In addition to thinking fresh meant expensive I also didn't have any idea how to properly store fresh fruits and veggies therefor they would go bad, literally forcing me to throw money away, I hate wasting food! I have purchased a few books that I am excited about reading and learning more about nutritional values and specific benefits we receive from certain "super foods", also about storage and preparation so nothing goes to waste! I have shared a link to Dr. Fuhrman's website, I purchased one of his books, Super Immunity The Essential Nutrition Guide for Boosting Your Body's Defenses to Live Longer, Stronger, and Disease Free.
Dr. Fuhrman
I also expect to find these following books useful as well.
